Our Master of Health Administration (MHA) program is designed to prepare individuals to serve as effective administrators, managers and leaders in the wide variety of organizations and agencies that make up the health services field. The program offers part-time and full-time students the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills enabling them to obtain entry level administrative and management positions or advance in established careers.
We offer students access to a wide variety of opportunities both in and outside of the classroom. Students can apply for a Graduate Assistantship and assist professors with research, grants and teaching. Many of our students have published research papers in acclaimed national and international journals. In addition, students have the opportunity to tap into the extensive connections of our faculty and their peers to obtain respected internships, residencies and fellowships.
The University of North Florida is located seven miles inland from the Atlantic ocean and twelve miles southeast of downtown Jacksonville, Florida. The university is set in a 13,000 acre nature preserve which has a unique system of nature trails and is designated as a bird sanctuary.
Our program has the distinct advantage of being located in an area with a large, vibrant health care community. Eleven hospitals, over 50 skilled nursing facilities, several large medical group practices, including the Mayo Clinic, and a large military outpatient clinic are easily accessible from UNF's Campus. Additionally, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida and other major insurers are located in Jacksonville.
